In the dictionary, "event" is defined as an occurrence happening at a determinable time and place, with or without the participation of human agents. Here is a depiction of an event as it relates to time.
In the platform, all events and sessions (sub-events happening within an event) should have:
1. Start date & time
2. End date & time
In relation to a present moment of time, events can be past, present, or set up for the future.
To be consistent and establish a uniform terminology, we will call these events and/or sessions:
1. Active (present)
2. Past
3. Future
From the platform user perspective, the importance of the events can be classified as follows:
Event Type | Urgency | Description |
Active Event | High | Event is happening now and is at its peak importance. |
Future Event | Medium | Event occurs in the future, but details are imperative for planning. |
Past Event | Low | Event has occurred. Organize and analyze results. |
In this light every event or session can have one of three statuses on the platform:
Event Type | Event Status | Indicator color |
Active Event | Active | Green |
Future Event | Upcoming | Yellow |
Past Event | Ended | Red |
